Adversaries are fielding old jets or none at all on carriers. Day to day it will be more of an assault ship, it's good to see the flexibility, carriers are good for a major conflict but over kill for many missions.

It is a worry, but the alternative is losing the fight.
4
@charlieharper2529 Russia didn't stand alone against Napoleon or Hitler. It stood with Britain.
4
Ultimately, Yes. Genuinely covert is people, scouting is having all the tech to see.
4
It would be quite reasonable if Russia had friends near us. Imagine if Russia had friends...
4
swansea007791 NATO is an organisation countries freely join. Those like Estonia do it for fear of Russian interference. Russia has done more to expand NATO than the US.
4
@blueband8114 They already do, bombers fly up to UK airspace, subs and ships sniff around every so often. And that's without an ally nearby to justify it.
4
Yep, 2 Scots is normal infantry. They'll be training and protecting none military personnel. Don't think Canada are there at the moment but could be wrong.
4
Mathew Bateman we spend £8bn+ on new kit every year, following NATO guidelines, that isn't stopping. By 2035 we are going to need to start replacing the Typhoon and will buy something. Better it be made in the UK to benefit our economy. If we get exports it starts paying for itself.

NATO

Dozens of terrorist plot have been foiled. While not perfect our intelligence services do a great job.
4
The west can continue to supply indefinitely, it is still fully in a peacetime economy. Its not ability in question, it's will.
4
With a global economy the whole world is our area. The Straits of Malacca for example sees a large part of our trade.
4
It was Protectorate, that isn't wrong?
4
The useful, professional bit of the Russia army is only about twice our size.
4
@Briselance these aren't replacing most vehicles either. From the description it mostly about allowing a vertical in situations where manned would be too dangerous. Modern vehicals aren't just mechanical. Electronics and now computers are now everywhere.
4
The 3 give 360 degree coverage, so I'd go none.
4
@edwardfletcher7790 t actually one of the better funded when you compare with the whole world. It's just we want to be the best and we only really compare ourselves to major economies.
4
They are doing the job they are needed for in Ukraine.
4
@itzmatty1906 no that's entirely useful. It's high portable. Actual travelling x20 the distance just means it isn't there in a timely manner. Your making it into a very different drone again.
4
@adamatch9624 experts don't think differently, no is saying MAD from conventional ICBMs is compromised.
4
Odd question, this is deployment with 2 other nations ships as part of the group visiting 40 more.
4
@dellawrence4323 Our demographic issues are a lack of kids, get on it.
4
We already get gas from Qatar, but generally for the UK it's not about getting enough but about the cost.
4
Most kit is effective if used effectively. A T72 is still capable of supporting infantry. Its long past a spear tip, but it can be part of the shaft.
4
@Dan Didnot it is in our interests, keep any issue far away from home.
4
We are helping Ukraine.
4
They won't attack, neither will Russia, so it seems doubtful.
4
@silasla I agree it's the right set up for this type drone, just pointing out that the smaller warhead means it's more reliant on hitting or close to the target, typically an area less technologically advanced countries have been behind on.
4
@theowl3756 Yes, a drone normally returns home, that's why this is a suicide drone.
4
@theowl3756 Yes, dropping bombs or firing missiles is pretty common. Like the Bayraktar TB2 Ukraine have used in this conflict or the US predators drones that have been around for a couple of decades. Typically they aren't jets but propeller driven.
4
Denmark has one of the best Democracies in the world, why do you think it's corrupt?
4
That was the plan, but money.
4
The UK isn't restricted when in can fight.
4
Nothing. A Russian war with NATO is sucide as is a NATO war with Russia.
4
Because it needs public support. And there's no technical info or unthought of ideas in the video.
4
Firstly what deal was ever an option, Putin started this war saying Ukriane isn't a country? But also why would the fact Russia wants to do something prove anything, they've already given up on the north and are struggling with the east.
4
@discoboy8169 Estonia has about twice the GDP per capita as Russia?
4
Why would you think a burning tank would mean it wasn't well protected?
4
@meme4one There's nothing stopping them sending fast jets, they are choosing not to sent them because it isn't there war. This war is Ukraine vs Russia. Ukraine is obviously getting support but it's there war.
4
@meme4one What does it have to do with article 5? And all you've described is harder to do, if it's your war you make harder happen, if your supporting someone else you might not, like is happening.
4
NATO itself runs more than a dozen in Europe, that would be the more likely port of call.
4
Russia has cut back a lot since oil prices dropped a few years ago.
3
@greetb9330 These kind of figures will be based of public information so may not be accurate. I think Russia's will be more likely to be accurate as there isn't the same entrenched control as with the CCP.
3
@adamatch9624 adapting the plane and all the medical kit tied up for transporting one person in a very niche circumstance.
3
It isn't, but that isn't what its for so its an odd question.
3
@Hobosurvival do you think NATO has run out? They still have reserves just slightly fewer, they are also constantly making new munitions. They are just at the point where they don't want to undermine there own capability so are supplying from production, rather than reserves.
3
@stretfordender11 we didn't have to invade in 2003, we chose to but also both Sadam and the Iranian revolution stem back to western interference, just older interference. We have troops in the Ukraine like we do in Mali, operation orbital.
3
Other way round. Long sighted. Not caring about today for the sake of tomorrow.
3
The US still has tactical weapons like gravity bombs.
