@1chish I agree cuts had to be made but it wasn't the decisions 10 years ago that got us here, but there reversal 5 years later.

@1chish 2010 had PoW going straight to extended readiness, F35Cs (and less) and no maritime patrol jet. Just the indecision on catapult question cost a hundred million.

I curious, do you think if a war starts you magic up an armed force? Also whats the no protection from bombers?

It's not a straight forward question. 160 (or maybe 156) is the amount bought, but some of the older ones are now used for parts and other aren't front line aircraft.

@gamerinthehousepower1671 beginning of 2019 was 102 Frontline, 40 sustainment. But more are being brought to Frontline per SDSR 2015.

@gamerinthehousepower1671 it's not ideal at the moment with the Tornado retired and the F35 still low on numbers. But it is what it is. We are still deployed in the Baltic, Romania and flying missions against ISIS as well as at home l.

@gamerinthehousepower1671 142 total. The frontline 102 is basically active, the sustainment 40 is roughly the reserve. With a dozen or so having been cannablised to make the total bought.
