  5. A modern F16 is full of F35 tech while being cheaper to sustain, it's still selling around the world as well as being the work horse of the USAF.

  6. Navy ships generally have advanced SAM systems, and frankly the Russian Navy isn't very important in this conflict.

  7.  @davidpickens8800  To keep Russian off balance. It stops the Russian acting with impunity knowing they can be attacked, ie. your ground attack aircraft need fighter support for all missions. It's also key that it in collaboration with ground based system.

  8.  @davidpickens8800  if Ukraine can restrict Russia to only stand off weapons that would be a success but I've heard no suggestion that's the case for all of Ukraine, maybe for western Ukraine.

  10.  @davidpickens8800  but your not. Your pointing out the Russian air force is still operating, which no one is disputing, that doesn't mean the Ukrainian air force isn't having an impact.

  11.  @davidpickens8800  Ukraine don't have air superiority or anything close. As I said earlier how they having an impact is by stopping Russia from acting with impunity. Like you mentioned earlier they are have to use stand off munitions like cruise missiles in the west. Weaker assets like attack helicopters are vulnerable. This is a small, old air force, success isn't dominating, it surviving and continuing to fight.

  13. For a start Russia is failing in Ukraine so that stops Russia. But why do you think they'd do nothing? Everyone has been consistent in saying they won't fight for Ukraine but will for NATO.

  14.  @jazzguy1927  Why do you think that? Everyone has been clear they will fight, there are even troops already in eastern NATO countries that would automatically be in the fight.

  20. They aren't in control of the air, even if they lost no jets they still started with few, they are denying Russia total control.
