In the UK we use what ever we feel like at the time.

Simply because we don't have many. Long range fires is an area we had highlighted as needing to improve ourselves before this conflict so even giving some is a show of commitment.

@Durgesuth we might a send a few more but we won't send a lot because we simply don't have many and need them for ourselves.

Why would you think you'd be asked? Its a representative democracy not a direct one.

It's sent Ceasar howitzers but it's generally been quiet about what it's sending. There a balance between informing your public and informing the enemy.

$40bn is over a future period not already given, and the UK has given more than $750m, last time I looked we'd given more as a % of our economy. Also we aren't in danger from Russia either.

They might be destroyed but they wont be taken. Russia are grinding slowly with artilllery not making fast manoeuvres that could capture one.

It not just the UK and US other european countries are sending kit too.

It basically forward defence. Our island has been relatively untouched over the years because we fight away from home. Helping someone else fight means even our troops aren't at risk.

@14ALL41OK Putin can commit suicide any time he wants, nothing has changed on that regard. Nuclear threats by Putin against the UK are hollow.

That would only make sense if we were arming both sides. If Ukraine is weak Russia has no need to sit down and talk.
