  6. Better to prevent the fight than win it. You don't talk about your special forces that will be there in hours, you do talk about a multilateral force that designed to dissuade and would be easy to find out about anyway.

  7. That 30% utterly drawfs Russian spending, the adversary NATO is designed for. Europe doesn't rely on the US, it out spends, out mans and out techs Russia. The US spends such a vast amount for its own concerns, being global superpower, not for the defence of Europe. As an example its bases in Germany have long since stopped been about Eurpean defence and for a couple of decades been a useful stoppping off point and drone relay to the middle east.
