  1.  @tedteddington6223  It wasn't important to add Ukraine to NATO, before the annexing of Crimea neither Ukraine nor NATO was bothered about pushing forward (nor had NATO stationed any forces in it's new members). Now, Ukraine is looking at a future in NATO and very hostile to Russia, Finland and Sweden are joining, NATO troops are permanently in places like Poland and Estonia and western Europe is rearming more committed to NATO than ever. This war was started by Russia!

  6.  @tedteddington6223  you say it factual but don't offer facts. There was very clearly hundreds of thousands of protesters in Ukraine that led to the fall of the government. And there was nothing surprising about that Ukraine has long been split been looking to Russia or to Europe. And this war is a Russian invasion.

  7.  @tedteddington6223  because NATO is open in principle. It was practicalities that meant Ukraine wasn't going to join. Frankly a Ukraine friendly to Russia but in NATO would make NATO less of a threat to Russia, it works by consensus.
