B52 is very much an exception but it's is still a ship of theseus with very little of the original. Type 23 replace is a combination of technological progress a la type 26 and economics a la type 31. Upgrades, cost of running, crew numbers, hours at sea will mean you get to a point when new is cheaper than old.

She's been linked with quiet a few other navies but it depends on how much it would cost to get to there spec and whether the RN want bits of her.

@richardfinnigan7458 what the pretending? QEs trip across the world had Dutch and US ships. But it can deploy alone on smaller scale, like we did with Sierra Leone.

@richardfinnigan7458 bit of a tangent but some rationalisation would make sense. However you need to replace the word "able" with "willing". Democratic powers have only supplied Ukraine with a small fraction of there own kit and often old stuff at that.

She was a GP type 23 so a type 31. When is more of a question depending which you class as replacing which but we won't be going back up in numbers until the late 2020s at the earliest.
