  1. He obviously finds it uncomfortable to talk frankly about his childhood, it is almost as though he has never been asked to be objective about it before. He must have grown up constantly trying to re-shape the narrative to seem positive and to normalize his experiences rather than admit to the pain and acknowledge the dysfunction. How fascinating: you could almost say exactly the same thing about his political career. Well done Steven, possibly the most revealing interview with the man, without you having to be hostile or combative. He obviously prefers to show a carefully fabricated front to the public and you managed to get behind it.
