I don't agree Matt. Even if Farage were to be elected he would be no more than a backbench 'voice in the wilderness', representing a party of no real significance. By not standing Farage can distance himself from this 'hopeless' election and avoid the possibility of being defeated and possibly humiliated. However, after the inevitable post election collapse of the right, he may be 'invited' back in a far more central and secure role in a new, more popular party with a much more realistic chance of government. In the meantime, during this election campaign, he will be free to focus on the subject of mass immigration and able to hold both parties to account. It might be much more effective for him to be outside the tent p**sing in, rather than inside the tent p**sing out?
