So i'm from the Netherlands and I pay (high) taxes, these taxes are also very helpful when I lost my job due to covid and helped me financially too bridge the gap between jobs, my government supported me at that time with benefits so that I would not lose my house and that I still had something to eat. The company I work for called VDL is doing laser technology, medical laser technology, working together with airbus on laser communication, building satellites, making parts for chip making machines for ASML. Get of your high horse and stop thinking that the US is making and using all these technologies. Apple, Samsung, IBM, AMD, INTEL etc etc are all reliant on one company in the Netherlands and that is ASML, because without ASML there are no chips.

In other developed countries you get: Far better work life balance Paid Maternity leave for the mother Paid Maternity leave for the father at least 20 days paid vacation (most of the time it's around 26 days) No need for health insurance through your job because it's either free or very affordable.

I pay 37% taxes in the Netherlands and I'm happy to do so because I know what I get in return for it and it benefits me. The benefits of working in the Netherlands is that I can go everywhere in the world on vacation and I did! (same as you). Also benefit of working in the Netherlands is that a company can't just fire me without any good reason. A company can't fire someone for being sick for a long time (only after 2 years). Also if I get fired from a job then I can get 70% of my former salary from the government too bridge the gap between jobs (it has conditions you have to do, like proving you are searching for a job). I never said that the US was a BAD country, I said that the US isn't the best, especially compared to European countries.

Because of taxes, taxes in the Netherlands have been used to improve quality of life for it's people. Don't compare your countries usage of taxes to other developed countries that have it far better because of these taxes they payed. There is a reason why the US keeps lacking behind other developed countries... because they don't know how to actually use the taxes for the people.

Can you explain why there is no other country on earth that had so many school shootings as the US, 288 till this day. Everyone (except the US) knows that too much of something is bad also everyone knows too little of something is bad. This is why other countries have a balance in many things, including guns. I bet you think that we are not allowed to have guns in Europe, if you do then you are wrong because we can have guns.
