@whyamimrpink78 Dude, you got that questions literally from the internet, just like I did earlier.
1. The elements that are the lightest on the periodic table (below magnesium—for example, hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and sodium) have X-rays that are too weak to travel back to the detector and get counted. And XRF just tells you how much of what elements are present—it says nothing about the chemical structure.
2. MCT detectors are more sensitive and faster.
electromagnetic spectrum (from approximately 800 to 2500 nm).
3. By simply exchanging the light source, beam splitter, and detector, the IRPrestige-21 not only measures in the usual mid-infrared region, but also measures in the near infrared and far infrared regions as well. This provides the following benefits.
Benefits of Near Infrared Measurement:
Samples can be left in glass or plastic containers for measurement
Measures without dilution by KBr or other substance
Allows observing overtone and combinations of peaks in the mid-infrared region
Benefits of Far Infrared Measurement:
Allows observing absorption peaks from oxides of inorganic elements
Allows observing absorption peaks from halogen compounds
