@koat1153 "Colonial" doesn't really imply that one side was Europeans. Everything Europe learned about "civilizing the savages" they learned when Rome came and brutalized them into line. Europeans were just "Among the first" in this congaline of "savages colonized", and just carried the abuses that shaped their formative years as "The Western World" onto everyone else. Not justifying it, just clarifying that Europe was "the colonized Native people" once upon a time.

@koat1153 This is true, but in all reality this is mostly because the colonization status of Europeans by and large predates the advent of reliable written recordkeeping. Understandable and I definitely wouldn't claim "colonized" status as a European, but the only real reason we don't tend to apply that term to Europeans whille applying it elsewhere almost literally is "This has been going on so long that everyone, Europe included, kinda forgot that they were part of the victimized group once upon a time." Every tactics and strategy of Europe used in the process of colonization was directly copy-pasted from "How did Rome break Us?"

@mandyharewood886 I would wholeheartedly agree. And just to be clear, I'm not justifying or rationalizing what Europe's culture has enabled and perpetrated for centuries. It absolutely annoys me that the main lesson Europe took from Daddy Rome was just "solid tactic, let's give it a try."
