As an engineer and designer of warships, I agreed.

@MartinCHorowitz True. Now I do notice that the lowest replaceable assemblies are getting"bigger" as programs are trying to meet mean time to repair and taking the route of fewer and therefore more complex LRAs. Eventually ending up with expensive and "bigger" LRAs. Before any user notices, the O level logistics footprint is twice as big as initially planned (or there is room for) plus the logistics trail of spares and retrograde transport becomes ... excitingly complex and expensive.

@stallfighter invite you to look at the warship recognition cards. On the lower left corner is the "density of main battery coverage" plot. For 41 degrees on either side of dead ahead, the Takao is restricted to 4 guns while Mogami can cover with all 6 guns. Don't be distracted by trying to fire dead ahead at near 0 degree elevation, it is rather pointless except for an extremity limited tactical situation.

My E39 with M62TU agreed until its final demise last December. 10mm and a lot of patience (remove 10 things to get to the 1 thing) for most, suspension not included.

@desert_jin6281 OMG, did not know a "window" shell like that existed! It's chaff, "window" was the initial name for the radar masking strips of aluminum foil. The "2 stacks of metal foil" is scattered by the "expelling charge" and forms a cloud of fluttering reflectors which the enemy radar can not look thru. I am so spoiled by dedicated chaff / countermeasure dispensers....🙁
