@jwenting did not know about the Dutch frigates, very interesting. Do you know if the design started with the same helo?

@jwenting that hits so close to home. Do you mind sharing the ship class and the helo TMS? I am not familiar with Dutch hardware and would like to use it as a case study.

@jwenting oh, this is a while ago! Thank you for the info. Sadly, DDG1000 did not do much better with her helo(s), in different ways.

IJN and IJA made an asinine move to sail 6000+ troops into the teeth of USAAC and RAAF and got their ships sunk from under them. As thousands of men clung to flotsam, USAAC and RAAF aircraft and PT boats returned to machine gun them. Then they told themselves justifying stories to allow them to sleep at night. Bismarck Sea was more a massacre then a battle. Stupid military decisions get men kill, that's war. After the ships were sunk, to go out on a mission expressly to shoot men who are struggling for their lives in the ocean, that I can not abide. End rant. Sean, this was not directed at you. Humanity broke down, and it troubled me ever since I first read about it in US history books.

@xerxeskingofking USN did use dyes in shells during WW2. The first example that comes to mind is that USS San Francisco was firing green dye shells at the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal and the evidence left by the green dye proved that she shot USS Atlanta.
