  3. If this journalist was shot at a Russian checkpoint how did the Ukrainian forces retrieve the body? If you're saying that Ukrainian forces bravely drove off the Russians and retrieve the body or negotiated with the Russians for the body, then why wouldn't you just come out and say the Russians shot him. The fact that they can't say the Russians shot him and ukrainians have the body suggests it was a Ukrainian checkpoint. If it is the Ukrainans that shot him, I don't blame them. It is an active war zone, when you approach a checkpoint with body armor it's a coin toss whether you're shot or not. EDIT: after seeing another video of an interview with the other surviving journalist, It isn't clear the body was retrieved. So at this point, no one knew who shot at them.
