IF .... we had a normally-distributed population of 68.64 million with an averageĀ longevity of 81.5 years, then 1/81.5 th would die each year. That's 842,000 deaths each year, or 70,000 deaths per month.

@Adrian Chetwynd I don't know the current figures. I'd expect them to be less than 70,000 pm in summer because they're higher in winter. Excess winter mortality is about 30,000 - 40,000 or 10-13,000 pm for the 3 winter months.
