  5. The battle of Stalingrad alone involved some 2 million men (adding both sides). Same thing at Kursk - and they're just short sections of the Russian Front.

  7. The question is "were the Germans massively outnumbered?" For that purpose, the Finns count because they were fighting the Soviets, too.
