To be agnostic is to accept the possibilty of there being a "god". What is the rational basis for that? If you cannot know if a "god" exists, or not, then neither can anyone else, so whoever first proposed the possibility was simply making shit up - shit that agnostics think themselves "rational" for accepting. I take it as fact, but I do not need to assert as fact "there are no gods" - "gods" is a meaningless term in that statement. It's not irrational to require that discussion is limited to meaningful words, or we might as well argue if (non-existent) fairies are big or small.
