  1. I object to the paternalism you began with. How long was the French terror - 10 years? How long was the Soviet state terror? 1917-1991, 73 years How long was Chinese state terror? 1947 - 2022, 75 years NK? Chile? Argentina? Mexico has been at war almost the whole of its existence!  Governments are massively more dangerous than public mobs.
