Comments by "Hermit Oldguy" (@hermitoldguy6312) on "BREAKING: Elon Musk launches hostile takeover of Twitter | Wake Up America" video.
As I understand it ... Twitter can keep Elon out by buying back their own shares, but that will raise the price, and be very expensive, and they (board members) might have to use their own money or borrow. Elon is forcing them to choose; either let him fix the company and make it more profitable, or keep him out and own the damage they are doing. It's a race to buy shares, and Elon has a 7% head-start.

"Hostile" is not a loaded term, it's the correct term.

If a company does not wish to be taken over, it can buy back its shares - if it can afford to.

@TheSillymansam It's not a leftist term, and it's not Elon that's being called "hostile", it's the take-over that's "hostile", and that's because the Board of Twitter have not approved it, and may act against it (buying back their own shares, for example).

@BigP.P. Yes, if a company sells most of its shares it risks someone targeting them - especially if that company is swimming in cash, or being run really poorly.

They're all watching each-other with deep suspicion right now, in case anyone starts selling. :)

That's the most obviously wrong line in any song I've ever seen. It should obviously be " this is what it sounds like when (a) love dies."

Good grief! Has no-one seen "Pretty Woman"? The background story is a hostile take-over.

Because the board of Twitter don't want him to be the boss of them.
