  1.  @lolanaylor1144  Ukraine didn't want to be a buffer zone and NATO was only ever going to help the plucky democracy standing up to their historic enemy. Russia failed dreadfully in the political, cultural and economic battles long before their troops crossed the border. People--especially young people--want democracy, and opportunities to live like the average Western citizen. Russia has nothing to give them but blood and bombs.
