@benoitguillette8945 How does China enforce a blockade against a nation backed by some of the largest naval powers the world has ever seen? Japan, the UK, the USA and co have dominated the Pacific for centuries at this point. They might be able to sink some ships with missiles from their mainland, but convoys screened by American carrier groups will be tough nuts to crack. Won't it just be China blockaded by Taiwan's allies from ports in Guam and Japan? Also, how is weakness against an aggressive neighbour a 'mistake'. That's like saying Cuba fucked up because the US has embargoed them. That isn't the problem, the problem should never be that your neighbour is a bully. I don't want to live in a world like that.

@tonyshen8543 Because Taiwan makes all of the computer chips those capitalists use??? And the US never gave Ukraine the pre-war support they are giving Taiwan, to back down would be the end of American dominance and the trade and wealth that means. And this would be a naval war. Ukraine would require boots-on-the-ground grinding, Taiwan being an island lets the US navy get involved. For some perspective, the US navy is the second largest air force in the world. It would be quite a favourable war to the American alliance.
