  1. Soviet Pineapple, the USA and co. lost because of public pressure. Surprisingly conscripting people to go die in jungles just to win a symbolic victory just wasn’t popular. Especially when you consider that even during the World Wars Australians refused to implement conscription and then had it forced on them just to best some commies in a third world jungle. The fact is, they still didn’t succeed in destroying communism in Vietnam, which was the whole point.
