  1. ALSO-RAN !, the cost doesn’t matter. The US government sunk trillions into the stock market earlier this year without batting an eye. They did it to try and stop an economic collapse caused by fear from covid. And it worked (kinda) the stock market is great! Just the actual gdp isn’t. The thing is, the costs could be offset by postponing some defence upgrades or not bailing out some corporations. There is plenty of money to go around. But in terms of what the other commenter said? It would probably take a decade at most. Any increase in trade, especially exports adds billions of dollars to the economy. The fact is, a lot of these things are already metric. The really expensive things like major government departments such as defence already use metric.
