  7. I urge everyone to read the 1917 Montagu memo published just after the Balfour Declaration. It reflects how many British Jews felt about the creation of a Jewish state in Palestine and how it, effectively, threatened to undermine their own extremely long held places in British society. Zionism was then and remains today a threat to Jews across the globe.
