Sweden's property market is particularly vulnerable to current interest rate rises because fewer people own their homes there, half of the housing market is mortgaged (more than elsewhere), more of it is on variable rates (than elsewhere) and household debt levels are extremely high. Not for nothing did its Central Bank Governor say he was sitting on a volcano 🌋.
