@hughfawcett4333 It does seem odd how GG seems to be accused of uniquely doing things that all politicians do and have always done. You've only got to watch PMQs to see how 'undivisive' our politicians are FFS.

Arguably the legacy party's past representatives have far more of a case to answer there than the incoming Galloway. GG must be judged on his record in office though, which is a fair point, but I don't imagine that come the next election he'll remain Rochdale's MP sadly.

@raymondo6665 The Rochdale by-election was used as a protest vote against the genocide in Gaza and overturned a big Labour majority and gave Galloway a substantial majority of his own. Even the second place was taken by a local independent and the two main parties finished third and fifth respectively in a democratic vote. More accurately his victory speech was used to highlight the ongoing massacre of Palestinians in Gaza. He wouldn't have won in Rochdale had it not been going on and if Labour hadn't earlier withdrawn its candidate.

@raymondo6665 What will be will be. The problem will be, and we're seeing it more and more now, is if both our politicians and voters refuse to accept the validity of the decisions the process itself delivers. This constant second guessing and imputing wicked motives or ignorance on the part of those whom we disagree with ultimately serves to undermine the whole process. We continue do so at our peril.
