  1. The UK economy is built on and sustained by the property market and the constant lending of the debt at profit associated with it. In order to keep this contrived show on the road the supply of housing needs to be constrained in relation to constant excess demand. The last thing the state or any UK government wants or needs is everybody secure and housed in easily affordable homes as it would cripple the economy and the goose that lays its golden eggs.
