Neil is right again on every aspect here. Sometimes some truths are SO big and SO terrifying that most people refuse to believe them nevermind understand them.

@lisamills161 Maybe, but then are you saying that it's better that nobody knows about it? I've know this for years and once I found out it completely changed my perspective on politics and how the world works. This is so much bigger than Neil Oliver, but would you rather it just got put back in its box and it never saw the light of day again?

@zimzalabing You're defending the monetary system ie fractional reserve lending. Up to a point I have no problem with it. What I do have a major problem with are the flagrant and repeated abuses it has allowed over many, many years and the fact that the vast majority of people are kept deliberately in ignorance of both the system itself and of how those ongoing abuses occurred precisely thanks to that system. Banks are, as most people understand them, in essence, quasi state entities, however history shows us they are private in the good times and only public in the bad. Capitalism is reserved for the poor whilst socialism is the preserve of the rich in no small part thanks to this system. How it functions on paper and in an ideal world is not really relevant.

@lisamills161 This is a frequent tactic and charge I've noticed levelled at a lot of the more controversial 'guru-type' commentators nowadays. They are, at their heart, ad hominems dressed up as concern for the dumb, gullible sheeple rather than concerned with directly addressing the points and arguments being made. Correct or otherwise. Neil Oliver happens to be stating undeniable verifiable facts. The fact that he's Neil Oliver, that he's earning his living from it or that you don't like him is not that relevant and doesn't fundamentally change the truth of what he is stating. You question his motivation. What's yours pray?
