  2. An atomised media targeting specific audiences is definitely a problem when it comes to entrenching views. Driven ever more by the profit motive, increasingly 'news' has become a commodity tweaked and served to our own taste for us to consume. When seen in this context not giving a paying audience, even if it's indirectly through advertising, what it wants makes little sense.

  3. Good discussion but there is a universal self awareness problem here ably demonstrated by the participants themselves on occasion. Why is it always 'the others' who are susceptible to the overtures of fake news but rarely, if ever, 'ourselves'. There are definitely elements of arrogance and self-righteousness here, particularly from the left.
