  2. Billionaire oligarchs buying up legacy media in order to belatedly try and control message. Legacy media loses more and more audience to fringe media which still, by and large, has to use establishment owned platforms to disseminate their message. Some, but not all, said platforms, predictably supported by legacy media, start to crack down on said fringe media in the name of stopping spread of mis and disinformation. Plan looks to be failing, so next step is to arrest 'non-compliant' oligarchs 'pour encourager les autres'. Doesn't exactly bode well, does it?
