I guess, unlike you, who must be pretty much unique in the world, he was a man who was a product of his time, who wasn't born fully formed and who went on to learn from his varied life experiences. I look forward to seeing and hearing your literary output. Your remark suggests that you must be truly special.

No-one has the monopoly on wisdom. As I've replied to someone above he was a product of his time and someone who evolved and endeavoured to learn from and reflect upon his life experiences over his lifetime. If that makes him 'a hypocrite' and enables you to summarily dismiss his views as a result then so be it, but how many people do you know (perhaps including your inestimably goodself) who are capable or are willing to make that stretch?
