Basically, if this continues as is, if your average successful 'business' which requires lots of cheap, reliable energy to stay that way suddenly can't access that vital energy then things could go t*ts pretty quickly without state support. Countries are far more complex and diverse of course than companies, but it doesn't exactly paint a rosy picture does it?

US role in stoking this years old simmering conflict certainly deserves more scrutiny ultimately, although one feels wider Western public 'gung ho' perceptions of this conflict are not quite ready to allow for that currently. There seems to be a distinct lack of desire, again primarily US led, to communicate with Russia which I find disturbing. This looks to me like good old-fashioned brinkmanship with a hapless, clueless Europe caught in the middle, but the US's record in handling these conflicts of the last 60 years doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

  4. The deepest, darkest cynic in me would say that these events represent quite an opportunity and excuse to start to unwind the huge amounts of debt in the bloated Western monetary systems, but luckily I'm not that cynical. 'To infinity and beyond!'🚀
