The Palestinians have, perhaps understandably, throughout refused to accept what amounts to the Judgement of Solomon. The Palestinian Arabs refused the partition in 1948 principally because they didn't agree with it in the first place, viewed it as an aggressive act and didn't believe that the UN had the authority to do so. Nevermind that they were also of the opinion that it ignored the very principles within the UN's own founding charter. That decision has wrought misery on both sides, but principally the Palestinians'. The problem is that the modern state of Israel is only around 75 years old and it was, essentially, born of the wave of antisemitism sweeping Europe in the first half of the last century and latter part of the 19th. Whilst I can see your comment is well-intentioned and an attempt at being constructive I think it's also quite obvious why many Palestinian Arabs still refuse to budge on the issue when they feel they and their antecedents were dispossessed by a massive and steady influx of foreign immigrants driven out of Europe by a problem not of their making or choosing.

@pazdylan1873 It's the million dollar question isn't it. An intractable problem that has foxed far greater minds than yours or mine for decades. It's as much a practical problem as it is a political one now. If not more so. Oil and water. A two state solution looks to be highly improbable now given the decades of mounting animus between the two and agreeing a genuinely fair split, particularly if brokered by the US, acceptable to all seems unlikely. A single state solution with the Right of Return which many Palestinians want (likely including Arafat which was why he rejected Clinton's 2000 'deal') also seems like an impossible dream now too. Plus imagine telling all those militant illegal settlers who think they're fulfilling a religious prophecy in the West Bank that it's time to call it a day and move on. Make Waco look like a picnic. Thus, if I'm honest, I don't know what the answer is but the two things I do know is that the UN seriously f*cked all those years ago by kicking the can down the road and the problem was ultimately caused by the Western powers and Zionists not the Palestinians or Jews.
