  2. There's excess money in the US economy that's for sure, but most of it is with the top 10% not the average working American. The top decile has seen its wealth grow by $28trn, yes trillion, in the three years since 2020 and they, unsurprisingly, account for way more consumer spending proportionately currently. Not being party to the covid windfall and accompanying state largesse, little wonder that a good many Americans don't feel that everything is rosy with the US economy at the moment despite the positive data apparently suggesting otherwise.
