Comments by "gerhard7" (@gerhard7323) on "Is UK Set for an Unexpected Economic Boom? (Probably Not!)" video.
It's long been quietly known that the UK's economic growth since 2008 actually comes from immigration. This is why GDP is such a deeply flawed metric designed to hide a multiple of sins. This model inevitably benefits a certain wealthier constituency ie those those best able to exploit the benefits from sustained cheaper labour costs. As the economic pie grows only incrementally bigger in relation to the sheer weight of numbers however, it essentially means that the average share for the average person is inevitably shrinking.

The US under Biden has, Keynesian style, simply juiced its economy with a huge stimulus. Problem is it didn't do it after a period of fixing its proverbial roof whilst the sun was shining. Its deficit spending is rising and its COVID era derived savings that have helped fuel its consumer spending boom are fast running out. In short, don't believe the hype about the US economy.

@ste16kam35 My comment regarding US economy was rejected for unknown reasons. Suffice is to say it's been juiced, that it isn't what it appears and don't confuse its stock market for its economy.
