  1. In 2008, the US and the eurozone had similar GDPs of $14.8 trillion and $14.2 trillion, respectively.  By 2023, the US GDP had grown to $26.9 trillion, while the eurozone's GDP was just over $15 trillion

  2.  @andrewwotherspoona5722  The EZ has actually added new members, albeit relatively minor ones, since 2008. The US has not added new states. Three quarters of US debt is domestically owned, there is also strong foreign demand for it as it is regarded as a safe bet compared to others, it can print its own currency and up to a point export its inflation, it is the world's reserve currency and it has a strong domestic market and robust tax base.
