The UK, along with significant others in Europe, has a significant interest bearing Debt to GDP ratio, particularly since covid. The only way that can be addressed is through growth, spending cuts, higher taxes or inflation. Though no great fan of this government it's quite obvious to me that they are the hapless ones left holding the passed turd parcel when the music stopped.

The UK and Europe are in a pretty bad place at the moment but don't assume that the US's time won't come either. Its stock market has boomed off the back of a massive injection of 'public' money predominantly in the interests of the wealthy. Basically, they've had nowhere else to put it other than the markets but it's now running on fumes, hence the ensuing 'crypto' rally. There's a reckoning to come....
