  1. The US President and his government are pushing against the FED then. Politics vs economics. The FED doesn't want to see more employment. It wants to see fewer people in jobs not more. It's trying to squash demand to meet the squeezed supply issues and accompanying inflation initially caused by covid policies the world over and exacerbated by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Rightly or wrongly, the choice is seen between higher employment with higher wages or entrenched high inflation rates.
