The Left is obsessed by virtue, signalling that virtue - principally to each other - and is constantly undermined by its obsession with identity politics. These things serve to distract from the fundamental which is, for want of a better word, class. Little wonder then that the so-called elites love and embrace identity politics at every opportunity. It is a highly effective divide and rule strategy that keeps the proles forever squabbling amongst themselves and has served and continues to serve them well.
