  1. Israel's status as the sole beacon of democracy in the ME echoes one of the excuses being used to feed the war in Ukraine. The bitter irony of course is that neither are really democracies now nevermind that there are other Western backed brutal autocracies in the region that we're quite happy to tolerate.
