Vast swathes of the huge European country of Ukraine are largely unaffected directly by this 'war'. As far as I understand it, the conflict is effectively concentrated to the East of the country bordering Russia extending down to Crimea in the South for obvious reasons. This raises the question as to why exactly were over 6m Ukrainians suddenly evacuated to Europe at the beginning of this Nato-led proxy war when most of the country appears to be carrying on as normal two years on? Further to this, even if it were an initial precautionary measure, why have so few returned?
