  2. If I were Russian I'd be extremely skeptical about what's on offer here. A winning Russia has no need to pause this war other than perhaps global optics and by doing so it could seriously compromise its future position and lead to the unnecessary loss of its soldiers' lives. The Americans started this proxy war against Russia and now they're apparently trying to finish it as best they can on their own terms, but what's in little doubt is that they have proved repeatedly that they cannot be trusted, Trump or no.
