One thing that's rarely mentioned nowadays in these interviews is that these vaccines are novel, particularly the mRNA ones. mRNA has been around since the early 90s and tried in various forms of treatment from cancer to heart problems, but has never been deemed safe enough to be passed by drug regulators anywhere in the world until only 7 months ago for general use. Nevermind that vaccines more generally, I believe, usually take many years to develop, test and pass regulation and that that passing of time is, in itself, highly informative.
