  3.  @KeithWilliamMacHendry  Speaking as a unionist I always found much to admire, as highly effective politicians at least, about both Sturgeon and Salmond. Sturgeon proved to be pretty abysmal in actual government however and what she and Murrell cooked up against Salmond, a broadly principled man I believe, should haunt them to their graves.

  4. Speaking as a unionist ironically we likely have Nicola Sturgeon (and her husband) to thank for his utterly ruthless, vicious removal from the big political game. I find it strange how he's rarely asked about it.

  5.  @VaucluseVanguard  The size of the monarchy, the form it takes and how it's paid for in the future should indeed become a matter of future debate, I just think let people enjoy themselves for one day.

  7. ​​​​I'm inclined to agree. Charles is an idiot IMHO, but he's not the monarchy. The constitutional monarchy itself transcends the individual and although I can sympathize with the arguments against monarchy by and large they are a constant which offers any democracy with one a degree of enduring stability.

  9.  @vincentvangogh8092  Some look upon it as PR for UK PLC I guess. No disrespect to them at all, but few people across the globe would tune in to any other country's royalties' major ceremonials to anything like they would the UK's I suspect.

  15. I was pleasantly surprised when I first watched him, expecting this preaching loathsome hate-filled partisan shock jock only to find, er, well, Tucker Carlson. He's just become a hate figure for many on the American Left (but certainly not all) most of whom I suspect have never watched him as Lionel says.
