It's not called lawfare for nothing. NY came up with the recent law specifically to pursue Trump in the civil sexual assault case. Thus far he's the only person who's been prosecuted under it, funnily enough, which is why the state is desperately pleading for more women more generally to come forward in order to justify its existence and presumably to make it look less obvious. There is, I believe, some sort of window in effect whereby if the law isn't used again by others it will cease to be. By then, of course, it will already have long done its job....

Don't forget CO2 only makes up 0.04% of the atmosphere. Water vapour makes up to 4% and is a far greater greenhouse gas, but we can't do anything about it basically. With that in mind, CO2 been rising from around 280ppm at the beginning of the industrial revolution to over 400 ppm today. And that's if you fully trust the science and also the absolute accuracy of the temperature measurements going back then. A correlation has been made between carbon based fossil fuels use, this rising CO2 concentration and relatively modest, gradual temperature rises in Earthly terms. Look at the carbon dioxide record from the Vostok ice cores. Temperature-wise we're on an upward trajectory sure, but in the last few million years the earth the earth is a helluva lot cooler than it has been and CO2 levels are way lower. Climate change is a grift, an article of faith or both.

It's not just Bojo's neck which should be on the block here. It's that whole sh*tshower, many of whom are still in Parliament and the devolved parliaments, who constantly postured and politicked for their own selfish ends and pushed for ever stronger, longer, sooner more Draconian measures during COVID. Bojo is a crowd pleasing useful idiot, but it's obvious that he's being scapegoated here by a bunch of spineless, self-serving bigger idiots hiding in the shadows who are desperate that this all goes away and someone, anyone other than them is held responsible for this entirely avoidable debacle we're still paying for and will paying for for years to come.

It should be a truism by now but sadly it isn't. So much of what ails our modern world is virtue signalling. It's role and cos playing for the bourgeoisie. Endlessly parroting the right thing and/or having the necessary conspicuous baubles to vaunt is deemed sufficient by your peers to demonstrate your faith to the cause. This then usually allows them to carry on as they please whilst hectoring others often less fortunate for not doing their bit or not believing enough. 'They' dutifully bought and paid for their favours so it's not their fault that others didn't or couldn't afford to. When the impending cataclysm comes it will be 'their' fault, not theirs. 'History might not repeat itself but it often rhymes' so the saying goes and it's predictably cheerfully rhyming away today. Luxury values indeed.

Worst thing is he was rightly skeptical about all this lockdown nonsense at the time. If he'd had the balls to speak up and resign he'd have my respect. He didn't and now has my utter contempt. Covid was an abject exercise in the dangers of groupthink and the state suppression of dissent. Any money you like that will not be the conclusion of this public inquiry though.

Is Brexit the new climate change or is climate change the new Brexit?

Much of Biden's Corvette garage stash comes from when he was VP not President I believe so I'm not sure whether he was legally allowed to take them home as keepsies in the first place. I'm sure he would have shown them to his guests if he'd remembered where they were but I think it's fair to say Trump probably saw more to do that with at his chintzy Mar-el-Lago golf resort than Biden did visiting his dingy basement in Delaware.

@ericatkinson9285 Certainly should form a major part of the mix I believe yes. With finite fossil fuels forecast to run out by 2060 or not much beyond the world needs to look to diversify how it generates its energy. In that sense the clock IS ticking. Nuclear is reliable, the technology exists and it is ideal for providing the vital baseload that is currently often provided by fossil fuels when the wind doesn't blow or the sun doesn't shine. Developing so called 'renewables' makes perfect sense to my mind as we move towards the inevitable depletion of said fossil fuels, but only as part of a mix. THAT is the perfectly rational narrative hook these arguments should be hung on NOT the highly questionable, highly profitable, divisive quackery that is man made carbon induced climate change and yet I've yet to hear anyone, literally, make this case.

@jakoflynn2560 So Brexit is the primary reason for what ails UK politics? Meanwhile in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the USA presumably everything is all hunkdory politically because they didn't? Think it might be time to replace your drumskin, but I have a feeling you're somewhat wedded till death to your blinkered narrative.

Is it Wilhelm or Robert we're talking about here pronunciation-wise?
