The big question which nobody ever seems to ask is WHO exactly dominates the bond markets that effectively govern which of these democratically elected governments get to sink or swim?

@ChristineRead-ck1uq Can't say I'm a fan of Liz Truss by any measure, but what concerns me is there is what the Italians call 'an external constraint' on our democratically elected governments. Ok up to a point, but who exactly are they and to whom are they accountable?

@ChristineRead-ck1uq The answer is our 'independent' Central Banks which then certainly begs further questions.

And yet posting multiple ROFL emojis without actually saying anything of substance at all is profound I presume?

Starmer might be many things - I personally can't abide the man - but he is NOT illegitimate....not in the electoral sense anyway. The FPTP electoral system, IMHO, sucks the fat one, but once we go down that road we're asking for trouble. Don't like the current system? Then campaign to change it or vote for someone who will, otherwise we just have to accept its 'gifts' and suck it up.

Cue, just as we had with the 2016 Referendum, some people calling into doubt the legitimacy of this vote. Both Labour and Lib Dems were super smart in how they played our granted execrable outmoded FPTP electoral system. Fin.
