  2. The trans movement isn't unique in attempting to crush free speech as it stands within the, at least current, law. You've also got climate change, covid lockdowns and jabs and the BLM movement plus I'm sure people could add to that list. It's basically a trend to end inconvenient critical thought and pursue what was known in Stalin's Russia as 'political correctness' where this phenomenon was first given its name. What we are increasingly seeing is a strata of truth governed by a constantly shifting lexicon crafted to trip up the unwary and unschooled. I believe that, even if it's on a subconscious level, that most sane, decent, rational people see this for what it is. The thin end of mighty dangerous wedge. Hence the pushback.

  3. Agreed. I think it goes to show that when you're on your own territory there's a lot more control and things are far more scripted than we realise. Fraser Nelson was a dumpster fire during that exchange although I would add that it wasn't Bridgen's finest debating hour either. Like watching two squirrels play chess and I SO wanted Bridgen to wipe the floor with him.
