The inherent premise/paradox/lie - take your pick - of the so-called Green Revolution is that the West can continue to consume more or less exactly what it does at the volume it does without significant fossil fuel input in future or at least something which can support the vital baseload of power that unpredictable renewables demand. I'm not here to pronounce on the veracity of anthropogenic climate change, but this is either looking more like a classic bait and switch by the financial classes or a catastrophic miscalculation, particularly in the UK.
