I think that the key points here are that democracy should always be allowed to run its true course and for it to prevail, which should after all be the paramount prevailing concern of all, its legitimacy is ultimately predicated on losers' consent. American democracy is in deep, deep trouble quite frankly precisely because fewer and fewer people trust or respect the outcome it delivers. Down that road lies chaos and potential ruin.
